is lying morally wrong?

Lying is a thing that we all naturally do. But is it always wrong? It's of course better to tell the truth, but sometimes it's just too hurtful. We have to keep in our minds that words really get to most people. Because of that we should think before we say anything. When someone asks us for example about their new haircut, we can't tell them that it looks bad because they would feel terrible. But in my opinion, when it comes to hiding important informations or lying about them, we just can't do that because everyone deserves to know what's really happening.
